How Studs.gg got better, release by release
From a janky soccer demo in December 2025 to Season 3 today. What changed in each Studs.gg release, in the words we used at the time.
Studs.gg is an AI game builder for Roblox, and it ships in seasons. Each season is a new version of the product, and the games it makes have got better with every one. Season 3 is live now.
December 2025: the first version
Our first demo was a soccer game made from one prompt. Three days later, on 19 December 2025, Studs.gg opened to everyone. We were plain about the quality:
That first version could turn a description into a playable game with logic, a 3D environment and UI. The games worked, and they were rough.
March 2026: Season 2, rebuilt from scratch
We spent six weeks rebuilding the generation engine from scratch, and Season 2 went live on 16 March 2026 at 8pm CET. On the morning of the launch we said what had been wrong with the first season:
Season 2 aimed at the gap between “something close” and the game you asked for. Describe an obby and it builds an obby. Describe a tycoon and it builds a tycoon. It ran entirely in the browser, with nothing to install, and it was free to try.
On that launch day Studs.gg ranked number 8 on OpenRouter by token usage, and a month later Shifter wrote about us.
Now: Season 3
Season 3 is the version you get today at Studs.gg. The promise on the home page is the same three steps it has always been: describe it, build it, publish it.
Why we ship in seasons
A season gives us room to change big things at once, like the engine that generates the games, and gives creators a clear moment to come back and try again. More than 100,000 creators have used Studs.gg so far, and the game jams show what they make with each version.
