The winner of our launch game jam

We ran a game jam for the launch of the latest Studs.gg. Here is the winning game, a race to claim land one tile at a time, in a 31 second video.

We ran a game jam for the launch of the latest version of Studs.gg: make a Roblox game with AI, publish it, and let people play. This is the game that won.

The winning game, played for 31 seconds. Watch on YouTube

How the game works

It is a race for land. The floor is a grid of white tiles, and every tile you walk onto turns your team’s colour.

There is one rule, and the game prints it across the screen: you must claim next to your land, with no diagonals. So you cannot run off and grab the far corner. You grow outwards from where you started, and so does everyone else.

A counter shows how many tiles you hold, a timer runs down, and a leaderboard ranks the top three.

Not our first jam

We ran our first one over Christmas 2025, a week after Studs.gg opened to everyone: six days, with more than $1,000 worth of Robux gift cards in prizes.

We’re running our first ever Christmas Game Jam: A 6 day jam where the goal is to build something janky using our platform.

The brief has not changed much since: create something weird.

Why it won

The idea fits in one sentence, anyone understands it in five seconds, and it is fun against other people. That is what a good Roblox game made from a prompt looks like: a small, clear rule, built and published without writing code.

If you have an idea like that, describe it at Studs.gg and publish it to Roblox.
